I have spent the last week and the current one learning Russian at the summer university courses. I truly like it and will continue this intellectual pursuit in the future, too. The rest of the time is being spent searching for work as my temporary agreements are expiring soon. It is a small wonder how much time it takes to write a proper application and input personal cv-data to different databases. Feels almost like work.

The Finnish summer has not yet shown her best. It is raining and the temperature varies from near freezing to quite comfortable. This week does not matter, because I am still almost literally attached to the laptop. Next week will see some serious thoughts about the future.

I am currently visiting the US for the first time in some fifteen years. Minnesota is nice and the almost subtropical warmth and humidity is quite relaxing. New York is still to come. The Mississippi riverbanks and the river itself provided quite a sight. I almost started to build a raft. Good times these are.

You cannot miss the Finns. I was walking to a Brooks Brothers store in Minneapolis and met my old teacher by chance. It is a small world. 

I have been extremely lazy updating my site. Too busy at work. My friends can browse new pictures from Flickr though.

2008 will start with something that should have happened years ago: I have enrolled to a French course. Let’s see whether it is useful or not.

During the past few months I have travelled several thousands of kilometres across Finland. This morning I woke up at 0500 and arrived back home an hour ago. Enough for a day.

I have been around Finland for some days, arrived in Helsinki early this morning. The autumn has come and the nature is preparing for winter. Two more months and another year has passed. Everything goes so quickly.

We did a Google fight match with my internet entrepreneur friend Antti Vilpponen. Surprisingly, I did quite well. Antti beat me with quite a narrow margin. My political activities have been almost successful…if just in this sense. Quite comforting, or is it?
